The Rumpass in Bumpass is a 2 day triathlon festival at the Lake Anna Beach and Marina on the southeastern corner of Lake Anna where the "hot" side of the lake enters into the cold side. The first open water swim of the VTS is at the same site as the Giant Acorn Triathlon and is a great place for early and late season events as the water is 4-6 degrees warmer than the upper parts of Lake Anna. A beatiful venue awaits you as do skills clinics, a first rate post race expo and festival. Bring your family and friends for a great day of racing and let the Rumpass in Bumpass begin!
Swim Course: The 1500 meter swim begins with an in water start with the course going around the transition area and the finish line. Your friends and loved ones can walk around the race site and never be more than 250 yards from you as you make the 3 right hand turns that make up the course. This section of Lake Anna is unique in that the water coming into this section is used to cool the power plant and is a good 4-6 degrees warmer than the rest of the lake. We expect the water temperature to be somewhere in the 60's so it will be a bit cool for the start of the race.
Bike Course: The bike course is 2 loops of the sprint course for 40K. With a right turn out of the marina the bike is all on fresh pavement and is mostly flat with some rolling sections. The best sections are when you race across the causeways with water on either side of you.
Run Course: The run is the same as the sprint course, it's just 2 loops. It's a simple, fast out and back course along the rural roads of Louisa County. The course has changed from years past as we now have about 200 yards of trail run before getting to paved roads. There is now no overlap with the bike course.

Lake Anna Open Water Swim Clinic
What are the key aspects to OWS? How can I handle my fear of swimming in dark water? How can I adapt from swimming in the pool to open water?
Join Setup Events and CUBU masters for a swim clinic at the Rumpass in Bumpass race site on April 17 and 18 from 4:00-5:30 each day. The cost is $25 for USAT members and athletes racing in the Rumpass In Bumpass.

Pre Race Meeting: An extensive pre-race meeting will take place at 6PM on Friday. If this is your first race, come to this meeting to have your questions answered. A second brief meeting willl occur at 9:45 just before the swim start.
Note: Participants must collect his/ her own event packets. Photo ID is required in order to collect event materials. NO ID = NO EVENT. ALL USAT annual members must show a valid USAT membership card or pay the one day membership fee ($10).

Policies and Refunds
REFUND POLICY
50% of your entry fee will be refunded until April 3, 2009 or until the event has filled. No refunds will be issued for any reason after April 3, 2009. Event entries are not transferable between persons, events or years. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to these refund terms. To request a refund you must complete the refund request form using the link below BEFORE the posted refund deadline.
Every effort will be made to have this event on time on this date. Should this event be cancelled due to an Act of God or other circumstance beyond the race directors control there will be no refunds, credits, or transfers.
RUMPASS TRANSFER POLICY
Should you want to switch from the International to the Sprint you will need to re-register online for the Sprint and then request a refund for the International. There is a $25 administrative fee to do this. This applies ONLY to the Rumpass triathlons and is only possible up until 2 weeks out from the event or one of the events fills. Once either event fills or we are within 2 weeks transfers and refunds will no longer be allowed.
