Description

2011 Event date will be announced by December 1, 2010

The specific date and time for online registration for the 2011 event will also be announced on December 1, 2010.

The Rumpus in Bumpass is a set of races over 2 days at the Lake Anna Beach and Marina on the southeastern corner of Lake Anna where the "hot" side of the lake enters into the cold side. The first open water swim of the VTS is at the same site as the Giant Acorn Triathlon and is a great place for early and late season events as the water is 4-6 degrees warmer than the upper parts of Lake Anna. A beautiful venue awaits you and this race provides a great excuse to spend a weekend at Lake Anna with your family and friends. Let the Rumpus in Bumpass begin!

Swim Course: The swim begins with an in water start with the course going around the transition area and the finish line. Your friends and loved ones can walk around the race site and never be more than 150 yards from you as you make the 3 right hand turns that make up the course. This section of Lake Anna is unique in that the water coming into this section is used to cool the power plant and is a good 4-6 degrees warmer than the rest of the lake. We expect the water to be in the 60's for this event so pack your wetsuit.

Bike Course: With a right turn out of the marina the bike is all on fresh pavement and is mostly flat with some rolling sections. The best section is mile 1.5-2.0 where you will race across the causeway with water on either side of you.

Run Course: The run is a simple, fast out and back course along the rural roads of Louisa County. The run goes the opposite direction as in years past and begins with about 200 yards of trail running. It's a great addition and it takes runners across the Anna River.
