The specific date and time for online registration for the 2011 event will also be announced on December 1, 2010.

The Tidewater Triathlon is Eastern Virginia's newest triathlon. Brought to you in partnership with the City of Hampton, Buckroe Beach, Phoebus, and Fort Monroe you will love this race. Held in conjunction with the 400th anniversary of Hampton there will be lots of festivities for you and the family to enjoy after this race and over the course of the weekend.

Swim Course: Staged out of Buckroe Beach the swim is in the Cheasapeake Bay and features a rectangular shaped swim course.

Bike Course: This is a fast and flat 2 loop course that in the Hampton portion is completely closed to traffic. The portion on Fort Monroe will be lightly traveled and patroled by MP's. The Sprint athletes will do one loop of this course, International distance athletes will turn around at the entrance to Buckroe Beach to start their second lap.

Run Course: Another fast and flat out and back course along the streets to the North of Buckroe Beach. Sprint athletes will do one lap, International athletes will do 2 laps.

This event benefits The Hampton YMCA and Wounded Warriors.

This event benefits both the Hampton YMCA and the Wounded Warriors Foundation. Both of these organizations do so much to help the local community and those who serve. Please consider making a donation to these groups when you register.

Beer Tent and Phoebus Rio
Well folks, it is official, you can start drinking beer at 9AM on Saturday. But only if you raced the triathlon, are 21+, and have been up since 4AM. We'll check your ID and give you a bracelet at packet pick up if you want to have a libation.

We'll also have Phoebus Rio playing live from 8AM until the awards ceremony. Phoebus Rio was recently voted the Penninsula's best Americana band.

Water Temp - Expect to be in the low to mid 70's

Women's TShirt Sizes:
New for this year many of the races in the VTS will be offering women's sized shirts. If you have registered for a race and want a women's sized shirt, please double check the sizing chart HERE. If you want to change your shirt size you have until 4 weeks prior to the race to do so as we will be placing the order for the exact number of shirts requested in women's sizing. Anyone registering within 4 weeks of the event will only have the option of unisex/men's shirt sizing.
NOTE - The first few races of the year have taught us that the womens shirts run SMALL, you will want to size up one size larger than you would normally order. If you do not choose to size-up and get a smaller than anticipated size we do not guarantee that there will be a shirt to size-up to on race weekend.

1/7/2010 - Old Point National Bank Signs Sponsorship of Innaugural Tidewater Triathlon.

This event is limited to the first 800 registrations (Sprint & International).

USAT Sanctioned
This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event.

Cut-Off Time
All participants must complete the event in under 4 hours from the start of the final wave. Event officials reserve the right to pull a participant off the course if it appears as though that participant will not be able to complete the event in under 4 hours.

Minimum Age
The minimum age allowed for participating in this event is 15 years of age.

Timing System
This event will be timed using the ChampionChip Tming System.

REFUND POLICY
50% of your entry fee will be refunded until May 29, 2010 or until the event has filled. No refunds will be issued for any reason after March 29, 2010. Event entries are not transferable between persons, events or years. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to the stated refund policy. By registering for this event you agree to these refund terms. To request a refund you must complete the refund request form using the link below BEFORE the posted refund deadline.

Every effort will be made to have this event on time on this date. Should this event be cancelled due to an Act of God or other circumstance beyond the race directors control there will be no refunds, credits, or transfers.
