Description
2011 Event date will be announced by December 1, 2010
The specific date and time for online registration for the 2011 event will also be announced on December 1, 2010.
The Shenandoah Valley Triathlon is set in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the beautiful town of Luray. The same great course as the August race this one loop swim in pristine Lake Arrowhead gets athletes ready for the 16.5 mile bike through the woods and farms of the Shenandoah Valley. The 5K is an out and back with rolling hills and all on the roads of Page County.
Come to Luray with its 300+ acres of award-winning parkland and spend some time exploring the downtown and seeing what the Shenandoah Valley has to offer!
Affiliated Charities
This event benefits United Way of Page County.
In appreciation for the support of the local Luray and Page County communities in hosting the event, the Shenandoah Valley Triathlon donates a portion of the race proceeds each year to benefit the local community.
In 2010, the United Way of Page County will once again be the primary beneficiary. The sole function of the United Way of Page County is to raise money for their 11 service and non-profit Partner Agencies. We decided on the United Way of Page County because of their broad reach to many deserving organizations in the community and the fact that every penny of the money raised by the United Way of Page County stays in Page County.
Please consider making an extra donation at time of registration to the United Way of Page County to directly benefit the local community.
Other involved community organizations include: Luray Downtown Initiative, Luray Volunteer Rescue Squad, Shenandoah Volunteer Rescue Squad, Quest for the Stars, Luray Christian Church, Luray Parks & Recreation Department, Luray Police Department and the Page County Sheriff's Office.
We will also be offering 50 special Community Slots for $200 with $150 from each community spot going directly to the United Way of Page County.
