VIEW ANOTHER EVENT
Parris Island starts the South Carolina Triathlon Series season in a big way. Triathletes from all over the nation come to test their early season training at the flat and fast course.
The swim is held in the Parris Island Military Combat Training pool. In order to keep the marines warm during hours of water training the water temperature is in the mid 80's. Swimmers will begin one at a time every 10 seconds swimming down and back in each lane before changing lanes. A simple rule of thumb here is that all lane changes are made at the same side of the pool where you begin.
The bike course is fast. Depending on the wind you may find a few sections of headwind and a few sections of tail wind. Either way this is a great chance to see just how fast you can go on a bike.
The run course also is flat and fast. A very simple out and back course. All turns are marked on the pavement. The course is mostly closed to traffic.
For the majority of the marines in the US as well as the SCTS Triathletes, Parris Island truly is "Where it all Begins".
This event benefits the SADS Foundation.
All SCTS events benefit the SADS (Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes) Foundation. Sudden arrhythmia death syndromes are genetic heart conditions that can cause sudden death in young, apparently healthy people. These conditions can be treated and deaths can be prevented.
Please consider a donation to this worthy cause during your registration process.

Event Site Rules
This event is limited to the first 500 registrations.
If at any point during this event you encounter a platoon formation crossing the course you MUST stop and allow this platoon to completely clear the roadway before continuing. If you break a platoon formation you will immediately be escorted off the marine base. This situation does not occur often and will likely not occur at this year's event. Just remember this rule in the event it does happen to you.
Swim Time Changes
If you are trying to make an adjustment to your estimated swim time change given during registration please click HERE to learn how to do this.
Our registration system allows for people to access their registrations and adjust their swim times prior to the event.
NOTE: All swim times must be adjusted no later than Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 9AM. After this time, participants will no longer be able to make this adjustment on their registration (the system will lock out any changes). Swim times will not be adjusted after this time for any reason.
Submitting a Swim Time
All participants must submit a 100 yard swim time for seeding purposes.
Being a pool swim with a staggered start, participants are seeded from fastest to slowest. It is in your best interest to submit an accurate 100 yard "pace" time for your 500 meter swim. In other words, don't submit your fastest 100 yard swim time, submit a 100 yard time that represents what you'll do on event day over the 500 meter distance.
