Description

Water Temp - 75 degrees as of 5/21/2010

The much anticipated Greensboro Triathlon will be held at Hagan Stone Park on Sunday May 23. With a beautiful lake swim, a rolling 2 loop bike course, a championship 5K run course and live post race music this is an event that you don't want to miss!

Located on the outskirts of southern Greensboro Hagan Stone Park is easy to get to from pretty much anywhere in NC. This park is the location of the Hagan Stone XC Classic which hosts thousands of runners each year.

Swim Course: The 750 meter triangular shaped swim course is point to point and will be well staffed with kayakers and lifeguards. Athletes will exit the swim and have a short 75 meter run to the transition area.

Bike Course: The bike course is a rolling 7 mile loop that athletes will do twice. It is all right hand turns with great straightaways and some fun short climbs. Both experienced and novice athletes will enjoy this bike course. To start the second loop athletes go straight by the park entrance, do not come back into the park to start your second loop.

Run Course: The run course is one of the best in NC. The first mile is all on road, miles 2 and 3 utilize the XC championship trail. This trail is 6-10 feet wide in all places and mulched most of the way. Even if you don't generally enjoy the last leg of a triathlon, you will love running on this course with its rolling hills and early summer foliage.
