Description
Located just 20 minutes south of Charlotte at beautiful Cane Creek Park this is a fantastic event for the novice and the advanced triathlete.
The point to point swim is a beach start and curves to exit the lake via a boat ramp. A short 300 meter run to the transition area gets you warmed up for the 14 mile course through the roads of Union County. The bike starts out rolling but gets flatter the further along you get and is absolutely beautiful. The run course is an out and back on road course along Harkey Road and finishes right beside the water for the post event festivities.

There is a $10.00 fee for each non-USAT registrant.

Event Capacity
This event is limited to the first 550 registrations.
USAT Sanctioned
The Cane Creek Triathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event.
Cut-Off Time
All participants must complete the event in under 2 hours, 30 minutes from the start of the final swim wave. Event officials reserve the right to pull a participant off the course if it appears as though that participant will not be able to complete the event in under 2 hours, 30 minutes.
Minimum Age
The minimum age allowed for participating in the Cane Creek Triathlon is 10 years of age.
Timing System
The Cane Creek Triathlon will be timed using the ChampionChip Tming System.

Note: Participants must collect his/ her own event packets. This rule applies to relay team members as well. Photo ID is required in order to collect event materials. NO ID = NO EVENT. ALL USAT annual members must show a valid USAT membership card or pay the one day membership fee ($10)

Policies and Refunds
REFUND POLICY
50% of your entry fee will be refunded until August 20, 2010. No refunds will be issued for any reason after August 20, 2010. Event entries are not transferable between persons, events or years.
NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to these refund terms. To request a refund, you must complete the refund request form using the link below.
WEATHER POLICY
In the event of inclement the following procedures will be followed:
The event will be postponed until 8:45AM in hopes the inclement weather will pass.
If inclement weather does not pass by 8:45AM , the event will be changed to a duathlon format.
If a duathlon is not possible, the event will be cancelled and a 50% credit will be issued for all registered participants into the 2011 event. No refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather.
If the event is cancelled due to inclement weather prior to event weekend, a 50% credit will be issued for all registered participants into the 2011 event. No refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather.
