A 10AM start, a crystal clear heated lake, super fast bike and run courses and Brunswick Stew. What more can you ask for? Located just 45 minutes SW of Fredericksburg and 45 minutes NW of Richmond at Lake Anna Beach Marina this is the final race of the 2010 Virginia Triathlon Series.
Swim Course: The swim begins with an in water start with the course going around the transition area and the finish line. Your friends and loved ones can walk around the race site and never be more than 150 yards from you as you make the 3 right hand turns that make up the course. This section of Lake Anna is unique in that the water coming into this section is used to cool the power plant and is a good 6-10 degrees warmer than the rest of the lake. The water was 72F in 2006, 77F in 2007, 74F in 2008, and 76 in 2009 which is pretty nice for October!
Bike Course: With a right turn out of the marina the bike is all on fresh pavement and is mostly flat with some rolling sections. The best section is mile 1.5-2.0 where you will race across the causeway with water on either side of you.
Run Course: The run is a simple, fast out and back course along the rural roads of Louisa County. The run goes the opposite direction as in years past and begins with about 200 yards of trail running. It's a great addition and it takes runners across the Anna River.

News
Women's TShirt Sizes:
New for this year many of the races in the VTS will be offering women's sized shirts. If you have registered for a race and want a women's sized shirt, please double check the sizing chart HERE. If you want to change your shirt size you have until 4 weeks prior to the race to do so as we will be placing the order for the exact number of shirts requested in women's sizing. Anyone registering within 4 weeks of the event will only have the option of unisex/men's shirt sizing.
NOTE - The first few races of the year have taught us that the womens shirts run SMALL, you will want to size up one size larger than you would normally order. If you do not choose to size-up and get a smaller than anticipated size we do not guarantee that there will be a shirt to size-up to on race weekend.
Giant Acorn Race Site: As some of you may have noticed by going by this event site to train that the Lake Anna Beach Marina is in foreclosure. We have a written agreement with the current owner that this will not proceed until later in the fall and we are good to go to use the race site. There will be a lot of mowing but the Giant Acorn will be the same great race it always has been.
