Description

RACE PUSHED TO NEXT SATURDAY THE 20th PLEASE see Below in the "news" section for items about the weather.

The 5K (3.1 mile) course will be similar to years past - consisting of asphalt and gravel - EXCEPT it will start and finish at Recreation Park in Black Mountain.

Please remember the unique team scoring aspect of this race! and be sure to register for the correct team when prompted.

News

Sorry Folks, Black Mountain has had reports of 5 inches of snow and with a high of 31 forecast for Saturday and more snow possibly forecast for Sunday, for safety reasons of both getting to the race and your safety while running we are pushing the event to next Saturday the 20th. That being said, Tell all of your friends who are running of these changes AND be aware that we have re-opened registration online.

If you picked up your packet today, simply keep your number in a safe place and come show up for the race on the 20th. The "new" packet pickup will be on the 19th and then again on the 20th.

5K Individual: First finisher and runner-up overall (male & female) and to the top three in the following age groups: 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70 & over.

5K Top Teams: (combined times) Husband/Wife, Mother/Daughter, Mother/Son, Father/Son, Father/Daughter, Brother/Sister, Sister/Sister, Brother/Brother & Open

5K Husband/Wife Teams:(combined ages-husband & wife) ♥Silver: 80 & under ♥Gold: 81-99 ♥Platinum: 100 & over

Packet Pickup

early packet pick up is the 19th from 12-5 at carver center. 101 carver ave black mtn nc 28711

Noon to 1:30 at race site on Race day.

DIRECTIONS TO RACE SITE
From I-40: Take Exit 64. Turn south on hwy 9. Go .4 miles and veer right onto Blue Ridge Rd. Stay on Blue Ridge for 1.2 miles then turn right onto Rec Park Dr. and park.
From U.S. 70: From either direction, turn South on Blue Ridge Rd, cross the railroad tracks, turn left onto Rec Park Dr. and park.

Policies and Refunds

This event goes rain or shine with a snow date of the 14th also at 2:00pm

The first 250 registered 5K runners will receive a long sleeve poly-pro "T". Late & race-day entrants will receive one as supplies last. Medals will be awarded to all participants in the youth one mile run.
