The second annual Quintiles Wrightsville Beach Marathon presented by Landfall Realty will be a historic event for those who participate. On Sunday, March 20, 2011 thousands of runners will begin their marathon quest from the ever popular destination island of Wrightsville Beach. Each will enjoy the scenic coastal views during their journey. They will wind through Landfall Community, an exclusive development in Wilmington for much of the course, and finish in Mayfaire Town Center. Competitors, their families and friends will take advantage of all the fun offered by this world famous beach destination.

We will cap the race to 2500 runners (800 in the full and 1700 in the half). This is a USATF Sanctioned Event.

Affiliated Charities

This event benefits Landfall Foundation and The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

Landfall Foundation Mission:

The Landfall Foundation was formed to support Wilmington charities. It has allowed the Landfall community an opportunity to make a valuable contribution to our city by distributing grants to smaller organizations that are often under funded. Although small, these local charities and causes meet broad and vital community needs.

Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation Mission:

The MMRF relentlessly pursues innovative means that accelerate the development of next-generation multiple myeloma treatments to extend the lives of patients and lead to a cure.

Pricing

  1. Before Saturday, January 01, 2011:

  2. Before Sunday, March 20, 2011:

Note: On-line Registration for this event closes on 03-17-2011 at 6:30 AM. On-site registration MAY be available during normal packet pick up hours. Please review this event site for more details regarding on-site registration.

Event Site Rules

On-Site Registration
There will be NO event weekend registration for this event. All registrations must be made prior to event weekend.

Cut-off Time
The course will be closed for half participants at 3 hours 15 minutes. Event organizers reserve the right to pull athletes off the course if they are not keeping a 15 minute per mile pace.

Headphones
Please note it is unsafe to wear headphones while running. Event organizers will not restrict headphone use and leave it up to the athlete on his/ her ability to follow direction while wearing headphone devices. If you do choose to wear headphones please keep the volume level down so you are able to hear and follow the direction of course volunteers.

Walkers/ Baby Joggers
Walkers and Baby Joggers will not be allowed in this event.

Minimum Age
The minimum age for participation in this event is 10 years old. If you would like to request a medical exemption for your child under 10, please use the contact us link at the top of this page.

Event Transfers
February 1, 2011 is the last day to transfer from one event to the other. If you are moving from the Full Marathon into the Half Marathon there are no refund of fees.

There is a transfer feee of $10 regardless of event transfer (Half to Full or Full to Half).

If you are transfering into the Full from the Half you will need to pay the $10 transfer fee PLUS the $20 difference in price for a total transfer cost of $30.

If you are transfering into the Half from Full you will only pay the $10 transfer fee. Again, no refunds will be given in this situation.

Policies and Refunds

Refunds
This event has a NO REFUND policy Entries may NOT be transferred from one person to another, or from one year to another. There will be no exceptions to this policy.

Event Transfers
February 1, 2011 is the last day to transfer from one event to the other. If you are moving from the Full Marathon into the Half Marathon there are no refund of fees.
