Description
The Colonial Beach Triathlon Festival consist of 2 great events set in scenic Colonial Beach. While this race is relatively new to the VTS, 2013 will make the 29th year for these races. The swim starts out with a 1 loop 750 meter swim in the Potomac river. This is then followed by a mostly flat 14 mile bike course through mostly rural countryside. Upon your return to the beach athletes will embark on a flat, fast out and back 5K course. Athletes will then be treated to a post race feast and can spend the day in Colonial Beach or the surrounding area.

T-Shirt Sizes
Please note that many races in the VTS will be offering women's sized shirts. If you have registered for a race and want a women's sized shirt, please double check the sizing chart HERE as the women's shirts tend to run small. If you want to change your shirt size you have until 4 weeks prior to the race to do so. Anyone registering within 4 weeks of the event is not guaranteed a specific size or style of shirt.

There is a $12.00 fee for each non-USAT registrant.

This event is limited to the first 500 registrations.
USAT Sanctioned
This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event.
Event Cut-Off Time
All participants must complete the event in under 2.5 hours from the start of the final wave. Athletes must be done with the swim portion of the sprint within 40 minutes of the last wave starting. Those not making the swim cut off time will not be allowed to continue with the bike portion of the event. Event officials reserve the right to pull a participant off the course if it appears as though that participant will not be able to complete the event in under 2.5 hours.
Minimum Age
The minimum age allowed for participating in this event is 12 years of age.
Timing System
This event will be timed using the ChampionChip Tming System.

Pre Race Meeting: An extensive pre-race meeting will take place at 6PM on Friday. If this is your first race, come to this meeting to have your questions answered. A second brief meeting willl occur at 6:40 just before the swim start.
Note: Participants must collect his/ her own event packets. Photo ID is required in order to collect event materials. NO ID = NO EVENT. ALL USAT annual members must show a valid USAT membership card or pay the one day membership fee ($12).

Policies and Refunds
REFUND POLICY
50% of your entry fee will be refunded until June 29, 2013 or until the event has filled. No refunds will be issued for any reason after June 29, 2013. Event entries are not transferable between persons, events or years. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to these refund terms. To request a refund you must complete the refund request form using the link below BEFORE the posted refund deadline.
Every effort will be made to have this event on time on this date. Should this event be cancelled due to an Act of God or other circumstance beyond the race directors control there will be no refunds, credits, or transfers.
TRANSFER POLICY
Should you want to switch from the International to the Sprint you will need to re-register online for the Sprint and then request a refund for the International. There is a $25 administrative fee to do this. This applies ONLY to the Colonial Beach triathlons and is only possible up until 2 weeks out from the event or one of the events fills. Once either event fills or we are within 2 weeks transfers and refunds will no longer be allowed.
