Description
This great event features a 700 yard open water swim, a 13 mile bike leg, and a 5K run. The course will include over 6 miles of beautiful Ocean Boulevard, a ride along the marsh in Cherry Grove, and a section of historic Ocean Drive the "Home of Beach Music" on Main Street. Bring your family & friends and make it a vacation event!
This is a great opportunity for your family and friends to share in your sporting passion. While you satisfy your "need for speed" at the event, those closest to you can also enjoy the prime vacation destination that "is" North Myrtle Beach. With premium restaurants, first class entertainment, scenic bicycle routes, local golf courses, extensive shopping, and the finest beaches on the east coast, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Be sure to make reservations for a few extra days to stay with us and enjoy the Grand Strand, you'll be glad that you did. So will those who travel with you.
Also, bring the family along on Friday Night to enjoy the1 Mile Family Fun Run / Walk, Concert and Dinner in McLean Park.

All SCTS events benefit the SADS (Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes) Foundation. Sudden arrhythmia death syndromes are genetic heart conditions that can cause sudden death in young, apparently healthy people. These conditions can be treated and deaths can be prevented.

There is a $12.00 fee for each non-USAT registrant.

This event is limited to the first 300 registrations.
USAT Sanctioned
The NMB Triathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event.
Cut-Off Time
All participants must complete the event in under 2 hours, 15 minutes from the start of the final wave. Event officials reserve the right to pull a participant off the course if it appears as though that participant will not be able to complete the event in under 2 hours, 15 minutes.
Minimum Age
The minimum age allowed for participating in the NMB Triathlon as an individual is 10 years of age.
Timing System
The NMB Triathlon will be timed using the ChampionChip Tming System.

Grand Strand Bicycles will be on hand at the Transition Area on event morning starting at 5:45AM for any last minute bike tech needs

Policies and Refunds
This event accepts refunds of 50% of the paid event price up to 14 days prior to the event date or until the event has filled. Event entries are not transferable between persons, events or years. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy.
The refund cutoff date is Saturday, August 24, 2013 or in 93 day(s) from today. .

WEATHER POLICY
In the event of inclement the following procedures will be followed:
- The event will be postponed until 7:30AM in hopes the inclement weather will pass.
- If inclement weather does not pass at 7:30AM the event will be changed to a duathlon with a 1 km Beach Run, 13 mile Bike, 5 km Run format.
- If a duathlon is not possible the event will be cancelled and a 50% credit will be issued for all registered participants into the 2014 event. No refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather.
- If the event is cancelled due to inclement weather prior to event weekend a 50% credit will be issued for all registered participants into the 2014 event. No refunds will be issued if the event is cancelled due to inclement weather.
