PARKING - Parking will be at the free lot adjacent to and across the street from the Stieff Silver building, just east of Druid Hill Park. Address is 800 Wyman Park Dr., Baltimore, MD, 21211. For easiest access, use I-83 (Jones Falls Expressway) Exit 7 and follow signs for 28th St. Left turn on Sisson Ave, left turn at 2d light on Wyman Park Dr. for easiest access to parking. It's a short walk west on Wyman Park Dr., crossing over I-83 to Druid Hill Park and the Transition Area.
Think you can only find triathlons outside major cities? Think again...and then register for the Druid Hill Sprint triathlon! Druid Hill Park is located in the heart of Baltimore, and shares distinction with New York's Central Park as one of the oldest landscaped public parks in the United States. The 300 yard serpentine swim takes place in the newly renovated outdoor pool. The bike course will feature some rolling hills, both within the park and along some of the surrounding roads in the "Monumental City." Exit T2 for a picturesque 5K run along shaded footpaths and sidewalks. Channel your "inner Braveheart" when you pass the 40 foot statue of Sir William Wallace (blue face paint and kilt are optional)! And those animal sounds you hear aren't just your fellow competitors....the Maryland Zoo, which opened in 1876 and is the third oldest zoological park in the U.S., is located in Druid Hill. Rich in history, Baltimore's battle during the War of 1812 inspired Francis Scott Key to pen "The Star Spangled Banner"......you will be inspired too when you hear our National Anthem before the start of your race!

Event Site Rules
Updating Your Swim Time
The last day to change your swim time is Friday July 25. You can do this by logging into your profile, selecting this race registration and updating your swim time. Be sure to enter your time in MM:SS format.
Based upon your estimated 100 yard swim time you will be assigned a specific start time. It is in your best interest to submit a time as accurate as possible. Submitting a time that is too fast for you puts you up with swimmers who will be passing you during the swim - not good for you or them. Putting a time that is too slow places you with slower swimmers and forces you to have to pass everyone. The ideal scenario for all participants is to have people submit accurate times - the whole swim flows better.
Note - You should not submit your "all-out effort" time. The time that should be submitted isthe 100-yard "pace" that you can maintain for the entire swim.
Cut Off Times: 2.5 Hours
Athletes must be done with the bike 2 hours after the last wave goes off or the last swimmer enters the water. This gives athletes 30 minutes to complete the run course. Those not completing the bike within this time frame will not be allowed to continue the race.
Race management and medical personnel reserve the right to pull any athlete from the course if it appears that they are not sufficiently trained to complete the remainder of the course in the allotted time and in a safe manner.
This event will be timed using the ChampionChip Timing System. (5 splits provided)
You must turn in your timing chip at the conclusion of your race or you will be billed for the replacement!

Note: Participants must collect his/ her own event packets. Photo ID is required in order to collect event materials. NO ID = NO EVENT. ALL USAT annual members must show a valid USAT membership card or pay the one day membership fee ($12)
Pre-Race Meeting: There will be a pre-race meeting and course overview given at 6PM on Saturday at the race site. Novices are encouraged to attend this meeting as ample time is allocated for Q&A. Brief instructions will be given race morning, however there will not be time for questions.

TransfersThis event does not provide transfers.
This event accepts a one time deferment up to 30 days prior to the event date or until the event has filled.
The deferral event is the 2015 - Druid Hill Park Sprint Triathlon .
The deferral cutoff date was Friday, July 11, 2014 and has passed. No further deferral requests will be accepted for this event.
There will be no other refunds, credits, or transfers available for this event. No exceptions.
In the event of inclement the following procedure will be followed: The event will be postponed for 30-45 minutes in hopes the inclement weather will pass. If the inclement weather does not pass within this timeframe the event will be changed to a duathlon format.
Every effort will be made to have this event on time on this date. Should this event be cancelled due to an Act of God or other circumstance beyond the race directors control there will be no refunds, credits, or transfers.
