5/29/2014 Tri the Swamp Rabbit Course Maps Updated
Tri the Swamp Rabbit will see a slight change in the run route for the 2014 event. The new course will now finish next to the Football Stadium and will provide a bird's eye view for spectators of the finish line chute. We are very excited about this new change and course maps have been updated.
For those "hopping" to race in South Carolina in July, MCF proudly presents the third annual Tri the Swamp Rabbit Sprint Triathlon at Furman University, one of the most picturesque campuses in the country. With over 600 registrations and 1,000+ spectators and volunteers at the first two events, the 2014 event will be another great success. The event is timed perfectly for mid-season summer fun, is family friendly, the only triathlon at Furman, and a great addition to the SCTS Series!
The 250-yard pool swim will make for a perfect start for the first timer and the Elite athlete pool with the transition just a few step alike. The swim will take place in the Furman Paladin Athletic Center pool with the transition area a few steps away near the football practice fields adjacent to the PAC. The manicured grass will feel like carpet beneath your feet.
The 16.5 bike course through beautiful Travelers Rest will test your mid-season legs rolling over a host of gradual climbs and a handful of short steep bursts with nearly all the climbing in the first half of the course followed by a fast finish leading into Furman's back gate. (Enjoy the ride home!!!)
After the bike leg you'll find a new twist on a 5K venue familiar to local athletes thanks to the addition of a sweet stretch on the Swamp Rabbit trail, the race's namesake. After a scenic jaunt around Furman's beautiful Swan Lake you'll enjoy more than a mile on the well-shaded Swamp Rabbit Trail, after which you'll loop back through this gorgeous campus towards the finish just beyond the transition area.
Get your Olympic fix at this one-of-a-kind finish line on the tartan surfaced running track just a short walk from the transition area as athletes make one half loop around the track to end the day with a stadium style finish. Post event festivities will take place on the infield of the track and in the shadows of the famed Paris Mountain.
This event benefits Mere Christianity Forum.
This event benefits Mere Christianity Forum. Mere Christianity Forum is a unique campus ministry serves the Furman, Travelers Rest, and Greenville communities and beyond. The philosophy is inspired by the quest of CS Lewis to discover and invite others into "mere Christianity". This thoughtful quest is one of Christian Unity and openness to those outside the Christian tradition and sets the tone for MCF's approach to ministry. As a result MCF finds itself not only shaping decidedly Christian students but also attracting and impacting those who are often left un-reached by other models of Christian ministry.

Swim Time Changes
If you are trying to make an adjustment to your estimated swim time change given during registration please click HERE to learn how to do this.
Our registration system allows for people to access their registrations and adjust their swim times prior to the event.
NOTE: All swim times must be adjusted no later than Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 7:30AM. After this time, participants will no longer be able to make this adjustment on their registration (the system will lock out any changes). Swim times will not be adjusted after this time for any reason.
Submitting a Swim Time
All participants must submit a 100 yard swim time for seeding purposes.
Being a pool swim with a staggered start, participants are seeded from fastest to slowest. It is in your best interest to submit an accurate 100 yard "pace" time for your 500 meter swim. In other words, don't submit your fastest 100 yard swim time, submit a 100 yard time that represents what you'll do on event day over the 500 meter distance.
