Pleasure Island Rentals

Pleasure Island Rentals is the leading beach rental company in Carolina Beach. They rent just about everything a beach vacationer could imagine; beach chairs & umbrellas, surfboards, paddleboards, kayaks, beach cruisers, fat tire bikes and much more. They also specialize in kayak and stand up paddleboard tours. As a proud sponsor of the Carolina Beach Double Sprint on 6/23 and Swim CB on 6/24, PIR would like to offer a 10% discount on all rental equipment to any and all participants on those days. Simply show up and identify yourself as a participant in one of those events. PIR will have a representative at the finish of both events to make it easy for you to line something up.

Pleasure Island Rentals is conveniently located at the corner of Lake Park Blvd. and Cape Fear Blvd. in “downtown” Carolina Beach – only a couple of blocks from the finish line for both events.

Swim CB is now part of the Carolina Swim Series

The Carolina Swim Series consists of five open water swims in the greater Wilmington area.

Swim Visual Cue Sheet

Here are some landmarks to key in on during the 1.5-mile swim.
There are only a handful of high rise buildings along Carolina Beach - most are 3 story private homes.

However, the are four distinct buildings you'll be able to spot.

The first (a 12 story building) comes only .34 miles into the race, so you'll probably have just settled into your comfortable pace.

You'll pass the second unit at .55 miles - or about a third of the way through the swim. It's smaller (7 stories) and tan.

The third unit appears just short of the one mile mark

The final sighting point is the most important (the Finish) and it's also the biggest building on the beach.
It has a very distinctive teal colored, pyramid shaped cupola on the roof.
